A very cold ride, with temps consistently showing -6.5 and -7 - feet were absolutely frozen when I got to work

Again very cold, -4 - and when I got home I was frozen and couldnt get warm; I went to bed straight away and was feverish and aching for days, finally going to the hospital with severe pains in my chest when breathing in, and it turned out I had pneumonia in my left lung, so off the bike for a few weeks

0:59:14 - new record! and first time breaking the hour. No wind to speak of, temp was 11 degrees C, much warmer than recent rides

Could possibly have been another record, but had to wait for traffic at two places after a few miles - good speed though. Total for the day is 02:00:21 !

Got a puncture in the rear tyre at about 10 miles, but I pumped it up once and it got me home (just, the tyre was nearly flat again) - the Dr Sludge tyre saved me having to change the tube half way home? The whole cycle home felt like cycling in treacle, was it just the wind?

(Christmas meal and drinks etc in the afternoon so Charlotte drove me home)

slow both ways today, no reason, just plodding along...

0 degrees so very cold but the Altura Tempest gloves keep my hands warm. Its my feet that always end up freezing (toes at least) - only wearing sealskins and shoes. Ride felt good, best since being sick last week.

Nice and easy - damn cold though

01:00:32 - a new record! shaving a huge 12 seconds off previous best, (and over a minute off pb in this direction) - the wind did help though, and only got held up at one road junction for maybe 15 seconds - the hour is in sight!

Slow today - legs were like jelly for some reason (though did waste 2 or 3 mins waiting for two cars to pass each other at one point)

took it nice and easy, no attempt at a record, but the time is good anyway, especially for the avg hr

Again took it easy, started off very fast (wind assistance?) but then got held up going onto the Hog's back - again good time for the avg hr. Total for the day is good (but not best) at 02:05:59

New record!! 01:00:44 - so close to the 1 hour mark (high hr though)

Bloody puncture in the rear wheel - it took 25 mins to fix, because the tyres are so tight its very difficult to get them off and back on, not like mtb tyres!

1^st ride with SPD's - no problems! (no quicker either!! - though I did have to stop and pick up the tow ball cover which I'd left on the ground on Friday night when Charlotte picked me up...)

New record! 01:01:59 - shaving 8 !! seconds off previous best (in this direction) - cocked up at the Churt crossroads and the chain fell off so I had to fix that, so as I'd been slightly ahead up to that point I put the hammer down to re-overtake the virtual partnet on the Garmin - but it was tough!

Just 9 seconds slower than previous best!

Got a puncture in the front wheel - and I couldn't get the bloody tyre off the wheel! Broke two tyre levers and then gave up and called Charlotte for a pick-up - the shame of it!

Crikey, thats some max hr (220)!! Something dodgy going on there...

So slow! (suffering from man flu)

I was 500 ft or so ahead of previous best at the bottom of the last hill (15.5 miles, to go up over the hog's back) and dropped into the granny ring - and the chain fell off (and thats after my adjusting it a few days ago so it shouldn't happen, I think the spring is too strong and jerks it off; the stop screw is set correctly). I got it back and and then damn near killed myself up the hill to regain my lead, and altogether took 35 seconds off previous best.

A slow ride back, mainly head wind and rain, and several huge puddles that were so big and deep I had to pedal through and the water came in over the top of my Seal Skins!

Faster - but still had to stop in one or two places, theres easily another minute to be saved...

1^st commute on the Scott Speedster S60 - apart from the chain falling off when I dropped to the small ring at the front it went well - nearly 10% quicker than previous runs, and I'm sure I was riding into a head wind, so should easily be able to take a few more minutes off - but to break the hour barrier...? I reckon its gonna be tough!

(could have been nearly 3 minutes quicker! Was stopped at the fire station cross raods just .25 miles from home for ages, theres no way to cross without a green light). Not such a nice ride home. Started raining a few minutes after leaving work, but it wasnt cold so I didnt stop to don jacket etc. The worst bits were not being able to see through rain soaked glasses (so I shoved them in my pocket) and the bloody pot-holes in the road. In the morning theres very little traffic so I go in the middle of the road which is mostly nice and smooth, but coming home theres lots of cars overtaking me, forcing me into the ruts at the side - and in the dark, wet, with oncoming cars blinding me its very difficult to avoid them

-1C all the way! Got a puncture half way to work, stopped and fixed it and did check the tyre for sharp objects but it was so cold my fingers must have missed the tiny thorn, so after 4 miles (which seems pretty good, the thorn was off-centre) so maybe only punctured when I rounded a corner?) the tyre was flat again - I had to stop several times and pump it up as I only carry one spare and that had been used

Didnt feel good coming home, it did seem as though I was riding into the wind a bit too...

To and from work both got average speed of 15.23 - just 9 seconds difference in time

Much warmer than the previous ride to work (around 12C) but drizzly, follwed by proper rain. The worst part was riding into the spray kicked up from the front wheel - need a better mud gaurd as aI literally couldn't see at some point, with the light being reflected as well it was terrible

First cycle to work - freezing cold (down to -1) but clear skies - a nice ride
